Hard-working, creative, and possessed of admirable humility and good humor, John Baumann would have seen success in whatever field he chose to ply his talents. Fortunately for his many fans, he made the bold choice to try his hand at singing and songwriting. A San Antonio native who now calls Austin his home, Baumann tinkered with songwriting for several years before recording a debut EP West Texas Vernacular in 2012. The EP emboldened him to piece together a band and hit whatever stages would give him the chance. He honed his craft on the way up, releasing his full-length 2014 album High Plains Alchemy and landing coveted opening slots at some of the state’s most revered venues. At Gruene Hall, Floore’s Country Store, and the Nutty Brown Amphitheater, among others, he has shared the stage with red-hot headliners like the Turnpike Troubadours and the Randy Rogers Band. His songwriting talents have garnered co-writes with artists including Pat Green, Cory Morrow, and Wade Bowen. Hailed as a “Texas Troubadour on the Rise,” John Baumann released his fourth studio album Proving Grounds to an eager fanbase in 2017. Expect to experience exceptional acoustic performances plus a very special “surprise” new “band” (of well-known artists) performance….only at MusicFest.
