A: The name’s Kaitlin Butts. I’m originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma.

A: Outspoken, genuine, reliable

Q: Tell us your story: What are some of the trials you have faced as an artist?
A: Finding balance between being an artist, a family member, and a partner.
Q: What’s the most awkward thing that happens to you on a regular basis?
A: People try to hug me & since I’m a really bad, awkward hugger, people realize it mid-hug and then they say “you’re not much of a hugger, are you?” And then them saying that makes me really self-conscious about future hugs which makes my hugs even more awkward.
Q: Where do you draw your songwriting inspiration from?
A: It’s different for every song. Sometimes it’s a dream, a realization, a different perspective that I hadn’t thought of before, or an experience that I have had.
Q: What musicians have you had the opportunity to learn from?
A: Courtney Patton-She’s my big sis in the scene.
Q: What is your favorite MusicFest venue?
A: Dungbeetle Saloon-I started doing the open mic the first couple of years I attended The MusicFest and then once I was actually on the lineup, it’s been my favorite spot. I just love how small and fun that room is. I just feel like I’m playing to my friends in a big living room. Also, whoever decorates that venue needs to come decorate my living room.
